Dellison Farm Tour
You’re invited to our September farm tour at Dellison Farm! Come explore and learn about raising grass-fed beef in the Cowichan Valley.
“Dellison Farm is a 5 generation family-run farm nestled in the Cowichan Valley. We are dedicated to raising happy, healthy animals so you can feel good about the meat you eat. All of our beef is born and raised right here on our farm and fed a grass-based diet their entire lives, the way nature intended. Our animals have access to the outdoors when the weather allows it or can snuggle up in their bed of shavings to hide away from the wet, west coast weather.
We also have our own local square and round bale hay for sale year-round.”
Please wash your shoes or leave your farm boots at home before visiting the farm, especially if you work on or have visited a farm recently.

CAS Farm Tour at Tatlo Road Farm
You're invited to our June farm tour at Tatlo Road Farm, a beautiful 7-acre certified organic farm just south of Crofton! Since 2013, they’ve been growing a diverse range of veggies using regenerative, agro-ecological practices.
Come explore the fields, meet the farmers, and learn more about how food is grown sustainably on Vancouver Island.
A word from Tatlo: "As the tour will meander through our growing fields, we will be taking appropriate bio-security measures to prevent the spread of soil borne diseases both into and out of our farm. Disposable bootcovers will be available, as will a bleach bath for cleaning footwear if preferred. We do ask folks to also consider what might be on their clothes if they are coming straight from working on their farm. Thanks!"

Farm Tour at Alderlea Farm
You're invited to our first farm tour of the season at Alderlea Farm!
“Alderlea is where passion meets purpose, where the art of sustainable farming and the love of nature intertwine. With utmost pride, we aim to provide high-quality, locally-sourced food that not only feeds our community but also nourishes the earth and all its creatures. Our farm-to-table restaurant and seasonal harvest box celebrate the essence of fresh, straight-from-the-field produce.
We believe that every aspect of our farm is interconnected and alive, and we strive to cultivate a harmonious relationship with the land. That's why we employ biodynamic practices, which involve working with the natural rhythms of the earth and the cosmos to nourish the soil, plants, and animals that call our farm home.”
Please RSVP to secretary@cowichanagriculturalsociety.org if you are able to join - members and those interested in learning more about CAS or becoming a member are welcome to join.
We hope to see you there!

General Meeting and Water Panel
Join us for our general meeting at which we will have an engaging session on water challenges and their impact on our local agricultural community. We’ve invited farmers who serve on the First Collaborative Community Advisory Table (CCAT) in BC, an advisory group to the Government-to-Government (G2G) Table that is leading the development of the Koksilah Water Sustainability Plan (WSP). The WSP will be a legal document, developed under the Water Sustainability Act, that enables the co-development of new provincial regulations—including those that can change how water is allocated and managed for agriculture—to address local water conflicts and support ecosystem health. This meeting is a great opportunity for members to ask questions, share concerns about water, and learn more about the Koksilah Watershed Plan.

FARM TOUR: Rimwood Farm
Located at 8721 Northshore Rd, Lake Cowichan
Hi, I’m Frank Schultz, the owner operator of Rimwood Farm. For the last five
years I have been working hard to build a reliable food source in the Lake
Cowichan area for our community. Specializing in vegetables and melons, my
production systems use organic and permaculture practices to provide the
highest quality vegetables in a sustainable manner. All vegetables are handled
with care, following CFSA guidelines in a specialized post-harvest facility.
Quality and consistency are the top production objectives. My goal in years to
come is to transition into a full time farmer, and be in a position to reach out
to the whole community with healthy local food.
